When are chemical peels useful?: Peels help with acne, sun damage, melasma, and aging skin rejuvenation.
What is skincare after a chemical peel?: A strict home care regimen according to your doctor's instructions must be followed. Sunscreens should be regularly used.
How often should chemical peels be repeated?: Peels should be repeated every 2-3 weeks.
How does laser hair removal work?: Laser causes selective destruction of hair follicles and achieves long term hair reduction.
How many laser hair removal sessions are needed?: Several sessions (between 6-10) are needed for significant hair reduction, since only growing hairs contain melanin.
What precautions should I take before laser hair removal?: Avoid waxing and plucking of hair for 2 weeks and avoid excess sun exposure to prevent skin damage.
Will hair grow again after laser removal?: Some regrowth may occur if underlying causes persist, but new hair grows slower and finer.
What is a carbon peel?: Carbon peel is a laser treatment beneficial for people with oily skin, enlarged pores, dull skin and acne.
What results does carbon peel provide?: Your skin will become smooth and soft instantly. It reduces fine lines, tightens dilated pores, and reduces acne, scars and pigmentation.
How does laser work for tattoo removal?: The laser light is absorbed by the tattoo ink and is converted to heat which fractures the ink particles.
What tattoos respond best to laser removal?: Black and dark blue tattoos respond readily to treatment based on colour and ink composition.
What is the normal hair growth cycle?: Hair growth is a continuous cyclic pattern of growth and rest. 90% of hair is in the growing stage. The average daily loss is 30-100 hairs, which is normal.
When does hair loss become abnormal?: Your hair loss may be abnormal if you are losing more than 100 hairs a day, influenced by genetics, nutrition, stress, and illness.
What is PRP therapy?: Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is concentrated blood plasma which contains approximately 3 to 5 times the number of platelets found in normal blood.
How does PRP work for hair regrowth?: A small amount of blood is obtained from your body from which PRP is isolated using centrifugation. PRP is injected into the scalp to stimulate existing hair follicles.
Is PRP therapy painful?: The pain is subjective. Topical anesthesia is applied before the procedure.
Are there side effects from PRP therapy?: PRP therapy is safe and natural because your own blood is used.
How many PRP sessions will I need?: PRP therapy is repeated every 4-6 weeks for 3-4 sittings followed by maintenance therapy every 6 months to 1 year.
What is acne?: Acne (pimples) is a very common skin ailment characterized by increased oil (sebum) secretion, black heads and white heads (comedones).
Can acne scars be prevented?: The best way to prevent acne scars is to treat acne early. Picking at scabs should be avoided.
How are acne scars treated?: Most acne scars are treated with combinations of surgical procedures and lasers - microdermabrasion, micro needling, subcision, TCA CROSS and fractional laser.
